Quote-Day-Thursday

This is one of my favourite quotes, as well as being a relevant quote this past week. I wanted to share this quote for Quote-Day-Thursday to remind anybody who's having a bad time that 'This too shall pass'. I've had a pretty bad week, been cancelled on, been pressured into doing things that are stressing me out, been mugged off, and just been feeling pretty crap in general. It's the little things that seem to build up and end up making you feel absolutely rubbish. However, I've realised this week, like I do often, that 'This too shall pass'. This bad mood and the shitty little things won't last and go on for ever. Eventually, it'll past. Whether that's in a couple of days, or a couple of months. After being let down this week and just feeling a bit crap, I feel so much better. Sorted things out with my mum, as we've been on pretty bad terms for the last couple of days, made new arrangements for the Christmas holidays to see family, and just realised that no matter how bad things may seem, they'll get better. So if you're feeling low and things just aren't going well for you, please remember that 'This too shall pass'. You can't have a rainbow without a bit of rain.

Every year at Christmas, it's a tradition that we go down to the local garden centre and we each choose a new Christmas decoration for our Christmas tree. I thought I'd share a few pictures with you!

So I obviously don't expect to receive all of the things in this wishlist, however I obviously do hope to see some of these things sitting under the Christmas tree on Christmas Day!
These are just some of the things I'm lusting over at the moment, and this post may just give you some ideas if you're struggling to decide on what to ask for this Christmas. Click on the images to view links on where to buy. Enjoy! :)

Every Thursday I'm going to be posting a quote. It'll be any quote about anything that is relevant to myself and the 7 days leading up to each Quote-Day-Thursday.

It's one simple word. 5 letters. 2 syllables. But it's one word that emphasises the importance of presence. Forget the past, don't worry about the future, and live in the present moment. So simple, but so effective in my opinion.

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

It's safe to say this year has flown by, and we're now in December, Chapter 12: my favourite month of the year, for obvious reasons.
Cosy jumpers. Hot chocolate. Christmas. New Year. Cold weather. Excitement. Happiness.
However, it's also a month of realisation. Realising the year is almost over. Realising a brand new year is upon us. Realising that there are quite a lot of things we leave in December, and a lot of new things we welcome in January.
It's been a year of laughs, smiles, tears, and stress: that's for sure.
For me, it was a year experiencing A Levels for the first time. It was a year where I experienced grief when I lost somebody close to my heart. It was a year where I learnt who I can and cannot trust. It was a year where I learnt and did so many new and exciting things. It was a year where I learnt that family is the most important thing to me. And there's no doubt that next year will teach me even more new things. We don't know what 2016 will bring us: nobody does. But that's the beauty of the unknown. We spend so much time being in fear of the unknown, when we should be excited for it. Excited for who we're going to meet, where we're going to go. Excited for the lessons we will learn, the obstacles we will overcome. But we shouldn't wish time away. We should live in the moment, and focus on the present. Because the present really is a gift.

This month, I plan on keeping my head held high, and I plan on focusing on what I love most. I'm going to smile and laugh more than I did in November, and I'm going to cry a lot less. I'm going to be strong, confident, hard-working, and positive. Because positivity is way more attractive than pessimism.

Live in the present, forget the past, and look forward to the future.
