The Golden Globes 2016: Red Carpet Looks

The Golden Globes Awards this year was not only a celebration of award-giving and film-stars, but the breathtaking numbers which graced the Red Carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. I was not disappointed by a single outfit: they were all beautiful and captivating. Red Carpet events are the perfect opportunity to get an insight into what luxury brands are currently creating and developing, and it also gives fashion-lovers, like myself, a chance to lust over any Couture gowns that we can dream of wearing one day.

Colour made a statement at the Golden Globes this year. Jennifer Lawrence stunned us all in a fire-engine-red Dior Couture gown accessorised with Chopard jewels, whilst Jennifer Lopez was dressed head-to-toe in a bright mustard-yellow Giambattista Valli dress with Jimmy Choo heels and Harry Winston jewellery. Not only were bold, bright colours a big trend on the Red Carpet; white gowns graced the Red Carpet like never before. White numbers such as Lily James' gorgeous and graceful Marchesa gown accessorised with Harry Winston jewellery, Saoirse Ronan's Saint Laurent gown, and Alicia Wikander's Louis Vuitton piece radiated purity, femininity and luxury against bright bold numbers which definitely spoke louder than words. Jewellery from the likes of Chopard and Harry Winston added the finishing touch to many Red Carpet pieces and dazzled under the bright lights.

As well as innocence and purity, glitz and glamour was a massive factor which made this years red Carpet looks at the Golden Globes memorable. The beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a custom-made Atelier Versace gown which made us weak at the knees. Accessories were not needed to finish this dress off: the gown, itself, did all the talking and proved that less really is more. One of my favourite looks on the Red Carpet was Eva Green's shimmering Elie Saab gown, accessorised with Repossi jewellery. The intricate detailing and see-through material looked feminine and beautiful. Amber Heard pulled off a pink Gucci gown which included a flower-detail collar, making this dress girlie and gorgeous.

Some stars were brave enough to show some skin at the glamorous awards ceremony of 2016. Brie Larson presented us with skin as well as glitz and glam in a custom-made Calvin Klein Collection dress with dainty Tiffany & Co. jewels. She showed her tightly-toned abs and tanned skin in this gorgeous number, proving that you can look sexy whilst remaining sophisticated for events as luxurious as this. Kate Hudson went daring in a top and skirt two-piece by Michael Kors Collection, accessorised with a Jimmy Choo box clutch which complimented this piece beautifully. Kate pulled this look off fabulously with her tightly-toned abs.

It's fair to say I am extremely excited for the next major event where fashion makes a statement.
