Zuhair Murad - Spring/Summer 2016 Couture

Zuhair Murad has done it again. This week he presented us with his breathtaking Spring/Summer 2016 Couture at Paris Couture Fashion Week and it did not disappoint. The talking points of this collection were his enchanting cages, lace intricacies, and soft pale hues. His masterpieces reinforced a romantic feel and showed us indescribable femininity throw the creation of delicate silk tulles and flowing evening gowns.

Murad's Haute Couture collection showed us a range of different lengths on the catwalk, from short tulip-shaped dresses, to long elegant evening gowns, and even asymmetrical skirts. Zuhair Murad succeeded in covering all occasions during the Spring and Summer months with these creations. Whilst his gorgeous evening gowns would have to be saved for an incredibly special and formal occasion, his tulip-shaped dresses and asymmetrical skirts could quite easily be worn on a warm evening out. What made his creations even more mesmerising were the cages constructed underneath the intricate detail of the material. Hips were exaggerated and the cage aspect was reinforced with a metal belt. This aspect created the romantic and classical feel about his masterpieces.

Titled as Amour-en-Cage, meaning Love in Cage, Zuhair Murad set out to create delicate transparent numbers along with the creation of the bird cage aspect which emphasised the femininity and romantic element of his creations. With intricate floral embroideries and soft pastel colours, the attires created illustrated the title perfectly and beautifully. Hues of lavender, soft vintage pinks, and pearl creams pulled the magical romantic look together as opposed to a seductive and sexy feel a dark red or deep plum would create. His choices of shades created the fairytale setting we'd imagine there to be in the background of these creations as well as appealing to the younger clientele this collection seemed to be targeting.

Zuhair Murad's Haute Couture collection grabbed my attention almost instantly and it's safe to say, I absolutely fell in love with it.
